Hey!
Do you know flower waters? Do you use them? Today I’d like to give you essential info on these all-natural beauty products. I truly hope that my list of top 5 best floral waters will be useful at least for some of you. Enjoy <3
Floral water. What’s that?
For those who haven’t got the opportunity to use floral waters, I’ve got a brief introduction.
Floral (or herbal) water is a side product of essential oil extraction. It’s lightweight because the water doesn’t have any color, although it doesn’t mean that it’s deprived of fragrances. Depending on the plant/herb that the particular water is obtained from, it can have various aromas and properties – it’s composed of a different set of nutrients (including vitamins and minerals). This is why you should know what floral water matches your skin type. For best effects, you should be aware of the benefits a particular floral water has on a particular skin type.
Benefits and applications of floral waters
It’s hard to define unequivocally the way floral waters work because the effects they produce are strictly connected with the plant they are extracted from. More information on that can be found below.
What can I tell you for sure? It’s a fact that herbal waters cleanse, moisturize and revive skin. Owing to their weightlessness and nutrient richness, you enjoy all their benefits (nourishment and refreshment) by just wiping your face with a cotton pad damp with floral water. But that’s not all. What are the other applications of flower waters?
- Provide a deep clean to the face morning and evening.
- Can be used as a replacement for a facial toner, to balance skin pH levels.
- Perfect as one of the products used for multi-stage face cleansing.
- To freshen skin up during hot days.
- To bring relief to irritated skin.
- To reduce some skin concerns.
TOP 5. Facial floral waters
Finally, it’s time to present you my faves. Here are facial floral waters that I can’t imagine my skin ritual without. Check them out!
1 | Rose water
The most universal among all floral waters and, I guess, even the most popular one. Information on rose water is almost everywhere, and you can read that it has rejuvenating properties. This is true, rose water should be applied to mature skin because it’s able to improve its suppleness and inhibit oxidation. Most of all, however, rose water moisturizes, deals with flabby skin and strengthens capillary walls, which means that it’s perfect for irritated and reddened skin.
2 | Witch hazel water
Another highly popular floral water is witch hazel water. I like it for being an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent. Witch hazel water is suited to oily, acne-prone and problematic skin types. Sadly, it doesn’t smell as wonderful as rose water.
3 | Aloe water (aloe vera distillate)
The most common form of aloe is gel that moisturizes and soothes various skin irritations. Maybe I will surprise you by saying that you can also get aloe water. I like it for giving me the feeling of instant freshness. To me, it resembles cucumber juice, which in fact deals with irritations pretty well too. If you want to replenish nutrients and water to your skin, I’d suggest using aloe water.
4 | Lime blossom water
I came across this product by accident when I was looking for something that would help me deal with reddens. Lime blossom water is perfect for skin with capillaries because apart from soothing irritations and erasing redness, it also prevents dryness.
5 | Orange blossom water
For those combating shiny T-zone, I’d recommend trying orange blossom water. This floral water, whose aroma is just adorable, is perfect for hot days. Obviously, the fragrance is not all. Orange blossom water is good at moisturizing, keeps skin tight and prevents oily skin, meaning that it helps control oily glands.
