Hello Girls!
Do you like sheet masks?
I looove them and I am not surprised that they are so valued by Korean women whose complexions are always flawless. I know that they could apply them every single day as a part of their skin care beauty rituals. To be honest, I don’t always have time for that, what’s more, sheet masks are rather pricey. How not to spend a fortune on them (even a once-a-week treatment seems to be expensive) and not deny the skin such a luxury?
As it turns out, a sheet mask can be successfully done at home. It does not cost a lot and still works wonders. What is more, only natural and reliable ingredients are used. Would you like to learn the recipes for best sheet masks? I’ve been testing various options for the past several weeks and in today’s post, I’d like to present the ones that worked best for me. So without further ado, let’s get started.
Homemade sheet mask – where to get the sheet from?
The quickest way to get a sheet for the mask is, of course, a traditional tissue. You cut out the mask template from it: you can first create it on stiff paper and draw on several handkerchiefs to always have ready sheets in stock. Cut the mask to match the eyes and nose holes.
Note: do not use scented tissues, for example, soaked in mint or lavender fragrance, because they can irritate the skin.
If you do not want to or do not like to play with cut-outs – you will certainly find in the drugstore a huge pack of readymade, cotton sheets – created especially for homemade masks. Another idea is to use special Korean masks (sheets) in a capsule. This is nothing more than a pressed cotton sheet that, when soaked in the toner, herbal infusion or hydrolate, soaks up and expands, and you have a mask that you put on your face.
I used just cotton tissues for my masks – I struggled to limit the cost of such a homemade mask as much as possible.
DIY homemade sheet masks – best recipes
1. Homemade sheet mask – moisturizing
- hyaluronic gel 3%,
- selected face hydrolat (e.g. rose),
- a few drops of raspberry seed oil (argan, almond, or other that you like and have at home),
- aloe gel,
- capsule with vitamin E (optional).
Mix all the ingredients in the bowl, immerse the sheet in it, and put the mask on your face for about 20-30 minutes.
2. Homemade sheet mask – rejuvenating and cleansing
- infusion of green tea leaves (1/3 cup),
- a teaspoon of honey,
- a few drops of liquid vitamin C,
- vitamin A + E capsule,
- a few drops of a selected natural oil (for me it is the invaluable raspberry oil).
Combine all the ingredients in the bowl, soak the mask in and apply it gently to your face. Keep the mask on your face for about 30 minutes.
3. Homemade sheet mask – improving color and moisturizing
- a teaspoon of hyaluronic gel,
- 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt,
- a spoonful of aloe gel,
- 3-4 tablespoons of soy or rice milk,
- a pinch of cinnamon,
- a teaspoon of honey.
Combine all the ingredients, soak the sheet in the mixture and put it onto your face. Hold the mask on for about 20-30 minutes.
4. Homemade face mask with rice paper sheet
Surprise – it turns out that rice paper (yes, the one for preparing food, such as egg rolls) works perfectly as a sheet mask. It abounds in a number of beneficial properties for the skin, including the ability to unify its color. Divide the rice paper into 4 pieces and simply put it on your face – 1 piece on each cheek, 1 part onto the forehead, 1 for the chin 🙂 Of course, the paper should be soaked … and what? Here’s the best recipe for a sheet mask with rice paper:
- 1 piece of rice paper,
- chamomile infusion,
- a tablespoon of honey,
- a tablespoon of hyaluronic acid 3%.
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Dip each of the 4 pieces of prepared rice paper in the mixture one by one and place it on your face. Keep the mask on your face for 15-20 minutes.
