How to take care of feet before spring? Discover my methods

I just love the first signs of spring: the sun shines, the grass grows, the trees bloom, birds tweet. Finally, you can say goodbye to boots and welcome sandals. The change of the season usually requires us to take some actions, because in winter, we don’t spend enough time on foot care. I, for example, limit it to a minimum. Here are my ways to take care of your feet in the spring.

1. Bath infused with salt and mint

Cracked and rough, thick skin – after autumn and winter, the skin on our feet does not look nice. I start with a hot bath. I pour warm water into the bowl and throw in a handful of sea salt or a few leaves of mint. It is a great way to improve the condition of the skin on the feet and avoid fungal infections, and by the way, a great way to relax. Remember to wipe your feet thoroughly after soaking.

2. Pedicure 

After a salt bath, I do my pedicure. In the perspective I have sandals and flip-flops, and not – as recently – thick socks and heavy shoes, that’s why I do it very carefully. After, the bath the skin is soft, which makes pedicure easier.

3. Foot Exfoliating

Now is the time to exfoliate, especially the heels. I choose highly exfoliating scrubs that have urea in them. If you prefer, you can use a foot file or pumice, but remember about the systematic cleansing of the latter.

4. Overnight foot mask 

In the evening I apply a strongly moisturizing and softening mask by wrapping my feet with a plastic bag and I go to sleep. The heat will make the mask also absorb into the deepest layers of the skin, and the effect will last longer.

5. Water with flax seed and potato peel

It happens that my heels are cracked, so once a week I soak feet in boiled water with a handful of linseed and peelings from 3 large potatoes. After bathing, I rub the hardened epidermis with pumice and apply a cream with glycerine.

6. Regular foot care

Every spring I promise myself that “from now on” I will systematically take care of my feet all year round. Unfortunately, I usually cannot do it. Nevertheless, remember that regular use of exfoliating and moisturizing treatments will significantly improve the look of your feet, and by the way, it will save you many hours of one-time work.
